Come sit, put your feet up!

Ottoman, foot rest, foot stool, bench, perch, Pouf, garden seat, stool - there are many names for such items.  These are unexpectedly one of the most used furniture pieces in the house.  Extra seating, quickly sit near someone to look at something, pull one up to have a more intimate discussion, set you magazine or drink down, and of course put you feet up.  Really who sits with there feet planted on the ground anymore?

In my living room I have two sets of upholstered stools (2 “X-benches” and 2 bamboo stools) I also have a set of Turquoise (I know, I’m soooooo predictable) garden stools and another set (yes turquoise) tucked under the hall table just steps away.  The garden stools are the perfect side table, they are so easy to move and perfect for my glass of wine, cell phone and House Beautiful magazine after a long day.  A couple years ago I started selling them to clients and I can’t believe how much people love and use these pieces.  I’m a big believer that anything that makes your house more versatile is a huge plus! These pieces are so easily movable and can be a fun pop of unexpected color or texture without feeling you need to commit to a large, more expensive piece of furniture.

 

 

As you can see these can be used as a piece of jewelry in the room.  Be fearless, bold and out there…seriously these are at best 2ft x 2ft how wrong can you go?  Actually, don’t answer that :o)
